Worst Time to be Young and in Debt |
Now you look around at what our youth is having to go through with finances: They go through 4-5 years at least of college so they can get a good job. They can get some Scholarships and Grants, but most is with big loans. Then they are let loose into the job market which has no job security and declining earnings.
So many now have ten of thousands they owe and not much hope to buy a home and raise a family. Forget saving for retirement, most young people today can't even break even every month. The big question is how much of this debt is a system that has gone a muck, or is the youth and /or their parents in America making bad decisions? Any way you look at it, debt causes great grief and can suffocate your dream of making it. A lot of young people are faced with large school loans and credit cards that are maxed out, and they still have to make enough to pay to just live. You end up in a job that you don't love because you feel you have no choice. It is important to find the balance for you in your own debt ratio in which you can live. Maybe you should try 2 years of Junior College instead of doing a 4-5 year private school program. You can get a great education still and it only matters where you graduate from, not where you start. Also try to do things in your life that could save you money and keep you from charging everything and end owing a great amount of money. The truth is the American Dream is still alive you just have to make the right decisions for you.
